Good Morning Family!
T-minus one week and counting for the Fifth Annual Fall Fish Fry with THE HOMESTEAD PICKERS! Thanks to those of you who have signed up to help fry fish and make cornbread. Also, a big “shout out” those who finished signing up for help frying fish! Good turnout! We have most everything now for the main part of the meal. Fish has been purchased. Fish has been caught and donated. We also express our gratitude to Mark Kershaw for donating a couple of dozen bags of white bass that he brought by this past week! Thanks, Mark!!
Dinner will be served at 5:30pm and then The Pickers will play from 6-8pm. I’ll probably be approaching some of you today or this next week to ask you to plan on helping out during the afternoon, possibly right after morning service that day as we set up tables and the stage area, and of course to help with the all-important “tear down” afterward. Many hands make light work. We will be setting up the “flat-bed trailer stage system” once again. Listen for announcements about how you can help.
Also, many thanks to those who have signed up to help with meals for several of our families who have experienced recent surgeries. There are several more coming up soon, so watch out for a few more “meal providing” opportunities. You are all so great at that!
This morning, we will pick up where we left off in Jesus’ parable of the Wicked Vinedressers. We simply introduced the parable last week and covered the first point. Today, I hope to finish it up in our sermon time.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Humbly Yours,
Dr. Steven Gann
