Good Morning Family!

Two weeks from today is the Community Appreciation Fish Fry and to that end I have made some postcard sized “invite cards” for you to take with you today and maybe invite a neighbor or two.  We have a few posters up around town and now it is up to the rest of us to get the word out.  Every once in a while, we go out on a limb and try to do something to make a more large scale contact with our community and this is one of those events, so let’s make the most of it.

Leaving this part in my letter the next few weeks: The Events Team continues to work hard on the Community Appreciation Fish Fry set for Sunday evening, October 9, 2022.  Not only will there be some great food, but great music as well as we have secured “The Homestead Pickers” from Silver Dollar City to come and play for the community that night.  Food will begin to be served at 6:00pm and music will begin at 6:30pm.  The Pickers will play some great American songs, share stories, and give folks the chuckles for about an hour.  Come for an evening of refreshing, encouragement, and an opportunity to meet some folks from the community that we pray will stop in for the night.  Bring a lawn chair and maybe an extra, if you have one.

Today’s message is taken from Scripture passages from the Psalms: Psalm 22 and 69.  We alluded to the 22nd Psalm in our message on the 23rd Psalm as we related it was a psalm regarding the suffering of Jesus and part of a trilogy connected with the 23rd.   The message for today is entitled, “The Death of a Son”.  Also, this morning, as timing would have it, we will share together in The Lord’s Supper.  Quite appropriate to gather around the Table of the Lord and cover these passages.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”   II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steven
