Good Morning Family!
It is Palm Sunday once again and it is so exciting to be here today to celebrate the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem for His final week of ministry before His incredible gift of Love given to us on the cross.
Such a bittersweet time it was and is to look back upon. Knowing that in just a few days, things would take a drastic turn, and Jesus would go from riding the back of a donkey in a kingly procession to being nailed to a Roman cross just demonstrates the incredible hand of God in the mission of salvation. In one week, Jesus would ride in as King and end up giving Himself up on the cross as the Lamb of God.
But then, just as all seemed to be lost, He would be raised from the dead to demonstrate that He was indeed the King all along. And His resurrection would give hope to all to be reconciled to God the Father. Romans 6:4 says, “ 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
As He died, He became the once for all sacrifice for each one of us. But now He calls us to die to self and live for Him. It is His resurrection that shows that He has the power to help us live for Him as we should until He returns. One day, He will return to Jerusalem as King and the outcome will be much different the second time, for this time He will be returning to reign.
As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15
