From Your Pastor's Heart - October 8, 2023
October 8, 2023, 5:00 AM

Good Morning Family,

October is going to be about as busy as it gets around here.  And we are trying to schedule so as to not over burden anyone.  I know so many of you have very full schedules and several of you are facing some medical procedures and further testing on the near horizon.  We know, we are those people.😊

But, in between all of those things we all work together as we are can to accomplish the ministry we have been given to do.  That is a great thing about this church family, we work together, really together.  Two meetings after church service last week started the ball rolling on two fronts…

First, the Yearly Budgeting Team and Personnel Team met to begin work on finalizing the 2024 Church Budget.  They are on a fast track this year as personal calendars of some of our leaders are filling with medical procedures and other personal scheduling challenges and we also certainly want bump up the schedule to get done before the holidays.  So, let’s pray for them as they begin meeting so they can produce a budget for the church to consider by Sunday October 29th.  Then, we will have a Churchwide Luncheon/Business Meeting on November 5th to complete our 2024 ministry budget agenda by voting to approve on that day.

Let’s also be in prayer for our Events Team as they got together last Sunday to lay out the meal plan for the October 22nd Second Annual Community Fish Fry.  Preparations and supplies have been on the move for a few months now and so we enter the home stretch of the team deciding on the meal plan. If you would like to be a part of helping with the meal in some way, call Tracy Hudson. The stage and lighting is ready to be assembled that day and The Homestead Pickers are ready to play!  Its going to be a fantastic fall evening!

I want to remind you once again that on next Sunday, October 15th as Robin, Tracy, David, and I travel to the Kansas City area to lead worship and speak at a local church Ladies Conference, Barney and Landon Munhollon along with Elaine Llewellyn will be leading in worship, Paul Winfrey will be here to lead you in the Church Family Prayer time and Rev. Dale Keel will bring a message from the Word here as you all meet together for worship next Sunday.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”    II Timothy 2:15.
