Good Morning Family!

Robin, Holly, and I along with all of you, I am sure, wish to put our collective arms around Connie, Brent, Stacie, Kayla, Kevin, and Cameron and let them know how much we love them and are continuing to lift them up in our prayers.

As we make plans to honor Gordon’s life this coming Thursday evening, June 26th at 6:30pm here at the church, we come to the conclusion of a long struggle for him and his family.  We have been moving through this very taxing time with them every step of the way as best we could and had prayed that the Lord would heal him, and ultimately, He did.  Not in the way we had prayed, but we must always make our wills submissive to the greater plan of God, even if we do not quite understand.

We will surely miss Gordon not just as a leader in the church for so many faithful years as a deacon and confidant, but as a friend and brother in the Lord most of all. He certainly did have a way of helping me see every angle of a situation in church family decision making processes over the years.  His love, deep concern for the good of the church family, wit, and wise input will be impossible to replace.

I know all of you will make every effort to be here Thursday Night as we remember and honor Gordon and love on his family at the 6:30pm memorial service.  Thankfully, we have the incredible promises of God that not only will we see Gordon again, but that we will all live together in God’s Heaven and enjoy each other as we watch the plan of God make its ever-steady way toward the eternity we have been talking about in our recent sermons.  One day we will all be in the New Jerusalem in New Heavens on the New Earth!

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”   II Timothy 2:15

Your Shepherd of the Hills,

Bro. Steven
