Good Morning Family!

Each week, I write this letter usually very early in the morning on Thursdays.  I am an early bird anyway.  It seems the older I get the earlier I get up.  I am a full hour to an hour an a half earlier rising than I was at 50 than I am at 60… whatever. So, as of this writing, we are supposedly under the gun for a very cold wave and some snow today (Sunday).  My prayer has been that it will wait until after our time of worship.

A couple of things coming up…

  • On January 21st, we will have our first Business Meeting Luncheon of the year.  On that day, we will meet in the Fellowship Hall for a pot luck lunch and then take a look back at 2023 as we cast vision for our ministries in 2024.  We will also look at what is coming up on the horizon and current needs of ministry.
  • On January 28th, for those interested in the next few months of the Fellowship Groups that we started up again last fall, we will have a get together for everyone at the home of Clark and Brenda Pond right after morning worship.  Their address is:174 Thruwoods Road, Cape Fair in the Walnut Springs area.  This will be a time we can talk about breaking out groups and up and running with this through Spring.

One more word about the Fellowship Groups, one of our church family’s strengths over the years has become outreach to kids and ministry to their families in the area.  In recognizing this, we need to also be sure to strengthen our church family internal ties and connections.  IN-reach is just as important as OUT-reach.  We desperately need each other first and to cultivate these relationships in order to be able to then accomplish ministry outside of these walls in our community relationships.  We are Stronger Together.

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”      II Timothy 2:15.
