From Your Pastor's Heart - December 17, 2023

Good Morning Family,

I am so glad our Choir will be presenting a few selections of Christmas music this morning to help us worship.  The FBCCF Choir under the direction of Dr. Mike Linder have been working hard this past month to put the finishing touches on these beautiful and encouraging choral pieces.  Thanks Mike and choir!

Just to make certain we are all up-to-date with church worship times on Christmas Eve, December 24th: We will be having our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service @ 6:00pm. This gathering usually lasts about 45 minutes and includes carols, scripture, and Communion ending with a traditional singing of Silent Night and lighting of individual candles.  It is a very special time in the life of our church, and we don’t want to pass that by.  We will still however have the regular Morning Service on the 24th at 10:30am.  We will gather for the Lord’s Supper at both of those services.  And remember, no Sunday School that morning, only the worship service.

Our annual Loren Easley Christmas Offering is always taken each year throughout December.  Named after the early pastor of First Baptist Church that dedicated himself and his family to minister here in Cape Fair for many years to lay a great foundation; we give in honor of his Holy Spirit empowered ministry to reach this community.  Our giving this year will be directed toward our General Association of Regular Baptist Churches- Regular Baptist International. This is the international outreach arm of our association that supplies missionaries and overseas ministries with literature assistance, training, and physical support.  Every dollar collected this Christmas Offering will go toward the direct support of supplies, training, and missionaries.  We will also direct funds gathered toward Convoy of Hope Rural Missionaries, Kim and Laurel Harvey who have been very hands on with our outreach ministries at FBCCF.

Seek the Lord how you would give toward this effort above your normal offering to FBCCF and the outcome will be His desire.

Today, we are celebrating the Fourth Sunday of Advent with our theme, JOY.  Let us come together as we “Rediscover the Gift of JOY.”

As always, my prayer is that we would all Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”      II Timothy 2:15.

God Bless Us, Every One!
