Good Morning Family!

It is difficult to believe it is October already, but here we are!  Autumn is my second favorite time of year next to winter.  The colors and the smells remind me of childhood and the wonder of the changing of seasons and great family times.

Autumn also begins one of the busiest times of year, I believe, for church ministry aside from the weeks before Easter.  As we see special events for the season and begin to plan for next year’s ministries, everybody be sure to measure your lives a bit and do not miss the Lord and your family during the busy times.  Let’s all try do our best here to be effective in ministry of the Gospel and all of the special times for our church family during this season, and at the same time be mindful to be balanced in all of that with your own family times in your own households.

One more week until the Community Fish Fry Event with the Pickers!  Keep mentioning it to your neighbors and friends and we do have postcard sized invites out on the table in the foyer for you to utilize in that effort.

Leaving this part in my letter the next few weeks: The Events Team continues to work hard on the Community Appreciation Fish Fry set for Sunday evening, October 9, 2022.  Not only will there be some great food, but great music as well as we have secured “The Homestead Pickers” from Silver Dollar City to come and play for the community that night.  Food will begin to be served at 6:00pm and music will begin at 6:30pm.  The Pickers will play some great American songs, share stories, and give folks the chuckles for about an hour.  Come for an evening of refreshing, encouragement, and an opportunity to meet some folks from the community that we pray will stop in for the night.  Bring a lawn chair and maybe an extra, if you have one.

Today’s message is taken from Scripture passages from the Psalms: Psalm 22 and 69.  We alluded to the 22nd Psalm in our message on the 23rd Psalm as we related it was a psalm regarding the suffering of Jesus and part of a trilogy connected with the 23rd.   The message for today is entitled, “The Death of a Son”.  Also, this morning, as timing would have it, we will share together in The Lord’s Supper.  Quite appropriate to gather around the Table of the Lord and cover these passages.

As always, my prayer is that we would all, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”   II Timothy 2:15

Humbly Yours,

Bro. Steven
